    Alice in Wonderland Wednesday 12th August

    Here’s something for all the family: for our next Artsreach performance, on Wednesday 12th August the wonderful Treehouse Theatre are bringing their magical Alice in Wonderland show to Cranborne Village Hall – and you can play a part on stage if you want to! 

    Follow Alice on a madcap adventure to a land of peculiar creatures and chaotic fun in this family-friendly summer panto. Alice meets a very late White Rabbit, gets caught up in a crazy tea party, and plays a game of croquet with a tyrannical Queen – but will she ever find her way home? Expect a colourful and interactive show filled with excitement, laughter and live music. It’s suitable for ages 4+.

    This is a performance with a difference though: up to 30 audience members can play a small part in the show! There’s also plenty for the rest of the audience to join in with. The show will start at 3pm, but if you’d like to be in it then you need to be there at 2.30pm. Tickets are £8 for adults, £6 for children and £24 for a family.     Afterwards, to keep the madcap atmosphere going, we’ll be running a Mad Hatter’s Tea Party (pre-booking only).     Want to spoil Dad on Sunday?

    Looking for  something perfect for a summer’s afternoon – or a treat for Dad on Father’s Day? How about cream teas and lovely live music at Cranborne Village Hall. 

    The highly-accomplished Wessex Folk Orchestra will be playing their unique mix of traditional tunes between 3pm and 5pm this coming Sunday, 21st June. And we’ll be serving traditional cream teas too: homemade scones with jam and clotted cream, plus tea (or coffee). The bar will be open, as will the garden.

    The event itself is free but it would help our planning if you could let us know if you’re coming. Teas are £7 if booked in advance – order via events@cranbornevillagehall.org.uk – or £9 on the day subject to availability.

    The forecast is looking glorious: come and enjoy a lovely afternoon with us.

    Chaturday this Saturday

    It’s our monthly Chaturdays this Saturday. Come along to Cranborne Village Hall between 10.30am and 12.30pm for homemade cakes, freshly brewed coffee and tea, and a chance to meet up with friends and neighbours.

    WORKING PARTY THIS SATURDAY

    Your village hall needs you! Please come along from 10.30am this Saturday and join a merry gang who will be tidying up the outside of the Hall. Bring your own tools – shears, rakes, brooms, whatever you have – and help make it look nice for the summer.

    Come for just as long as you can spare. Drinks and biscuits provided.

    Cream teas and live music….

    ….what more could you want on a summer afternoon? Come and join us at Cranborne Village Hall on Sunday 21st June when the Wessex Folk Orchestra will entertain us while we all treat ourselves to home-made scones, clotted cream, jam and tea.

    Group Circuit Training

    Join Howard’s fantastic Group Circuit Training class and get fit (or fitter). He’s a great personal trainer and will ensure you progress at your own pace. The classes happen twice a week at Cranborne Village Hall – Monday evenings and Thursday mornings – and they really are fantastic. All ages and fitness levels welcome.

    Have a go at table tennis

    Feel like playing ping pong? Come along on Wednesday (27th May) for a free table tennis taster session at Cranborne Village Hall.

    We’re a very friendly club which meets on Fridays and the occasional Wednesday and we’d love you to join us. This is your chance to have a go and see if you enjoy it. It’s all happening from 5.45pm.

    Working Party 6th June

    Can you spare some time on Saturday 6th June? We need to get the outside area of the Village Hall spick and span for the summer, so we’re organising a working party. We’d really appreciate your help.

    Come along from 10.30am for as long as you can, and bring your own garden tools: rakes, brooms, shears….whatever you’ve got. Hot and cold drinks and biscuits will be provided!

    Cream Tea Concert Sunday 21st June

    We’ve got something a bit different coming up. The wonderful Wessex Folk Orchestra will be coming to Cranborne Village Hall on Sunday 21st June, 3pm – 5pm, to play their sometimes lively, sometimes moving country dance tunes. Their entertaining repertoire includes Playford’s Compleat Dance collection 1651-1728, the Thomas Hardy family tunebook, Jane Austen’s family tunebook and some newly-composed tunes. They are a delight!

    We’ll be serving traditional cream teas during the performance – home made scones, clotted cream and jam, with pots of tea. It promises to be a lovely afternoon. Pre-booked teas are £7, or some will be available for £9 on the day – so please pre-order to avoid disappointment.
